The Cowal project is a world-class, open pit gold operation located 350km west of Sydney in NSW. In collaboration with Evolution Mining, Barminco are developing a new underground mine to assist Evolution in building towards 350,000ozpa of production.
Hemlo is located 350 kilometres east of Thunder Bay in Ontario, Canada. Barrick Gold’s Williams mine is an underground and open pit operation that has produced more than 21 million ounces of gold. Since commencing at the project in 2019, Barminco have been working to modernise and improve the performance of the mine, employing over 300 Ontario locals on site.
Barminco works with client Western Areas at the Spotted Quoll mine site in Western Australia. Spotted Quoll is a nickel mine and has a shared staff of approximately 190 people. It produces approximately 0.2Mt per year.
Spotted Quolls is the more recent development in the Forrestania complex and operates with Flying Fox as ‘one site’ to take advantage of operational synergies in plant and labour resourcing. Single stream management of the two operations has enabled Barminco to reduce costs and pass on savings to Western Areas.
Barminco has been working at the primary contractor at Western Area’s Flying Fox operation for more than a decade. The mine produces approximately 0.2Mt per annum and has a shared workforce (with Spotted Quoll) of approximately 190 people.
Odysseus is another of Western Area’s Nickel mines located in Western Australia. Odysseus is a mine re-start operation and is currently being rehabilitated with new development, before moving into production.
Odysseus currently has 25 people on site, with Barminco providing underground development service.
Independence Group’s Nova mine produces approximately 1.3Mt of Nickel, Copper and Cobalt per annum. Located in Fraser Range, Western Australia the site has over 160 employees and Barminco provides a range of underground production mining and development services.
Barminco works with newly formed company Round Oak Minerals at their copper mine start-up, Mt Colin. Once ramp up is complete, Mount Colin will be developing approximately 0.4Mt tonnes per year. Approximately 40 employees are currently based at this site.
Sukari is one of the most remote sites in our group. Barminco has the task of training the Egyptian workforce and all site procedures have been translated into Arabic. Site rosters are 6 weeks on and 3 weeks off for all expats and 20 days on and 10 days off for all nationals.
The Sukari deposit is accessed via the Ptah and Amun Declines with approximately 0.7Mt produced per annum.
Sukari is the only underground operating gold mine in Egypt. It is staffed with a largely national workforce.
Rosemont is a gold mine located in Bandya, Western Australia. Operated by Regis Resources, Barminco provides services in underground production mining and underground development. Approximately 40 staff work on site and when production commences, annual productions is anticipated to be 0.2Mt.
Rosemont is Regis Resources first underground operation located within the Duketon Complex, WA.
Zone 5 is a large scale copper deposit located in Botswana. It will be the first major underground operation of significant size in Botswana.
Barminco is working with client Khoemacau Copper Mining to provide services in underground production mining, underground development and diamond drilling.
