The Mount Newman open cut iron ore mine in Western Australia is also known as Mount Whaleback Iron Ore Mine. The mine is majority owned by BHP Billiton and was developed more than 50 years ago. Mount Whaleback has been the backbone of BHP’s Pilbara operations producing millions of tonnes of high grade iron ore every year.
Ausdrill supplies a range of RC drill rigs for the purpose of drilling both in pit grade control and exploration reverse circulation drill holes. We also use specialist diamond rigs for the deep diamond holes and all plant, equipment, and personnel are supplied by Ausdrill to ensure successful completion the exploration drilling program.
