The Karara mine is a large iron mine located in the Mid-West region of Western Australia. Karara represents one of the largest iron ore reserves in Australia and in the world, having estimated reserves of 2 billion tonnes of ore grading 35.5% iron metal. It is one of the few magnetite producers in Western Australia. It is owned by Ansteel Group (52.16%) and Gindalbie Metals (47.84%).
The Mungari gold operation is located 600km east of Perth and 20km west of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia on the traditional land of the Maduwongga People. The operation consists of underground mining at Frog’s Leg, open pit mining at White Foil and a strategically located 1.6Mtpa process plant.
The Ensham Coal Mine is a coal mine located 40 km east of Emerald in Central Queensland, Australia. The mine has coal reserves amounting to 1.48 billion tonnes of coking coal, one of the largest coal reserves in Asia and the world. The Ensham mine has an annual production capacity of 7 million tonnes of coal. Ensham consists of six pits on either side of the Nogoa River. Operations currently utilise the open-cut method of mining.
