Hemlo is located 350 kilometres east of Thunder Bay in Ontario, Canada. Barrick Gold’s Williams mine is an underground and open pit operation that has produced more than 21 million ounces of gold. Since commencing at the project in 2019, Barminco have been working to modernise and improve the performance of the mine, employing over 300 Ontario locals on site.
The Yaramoko permit covers approximately 196km2 in the Province of Balé in Southwestern Burkina Faso. The property is located approximately 200 kilometres Southwest from the capital city of Ouagadougou.
AUMS works with client Roxgold to provide services in underground production mining, underground development and diamond drilling.
The Yaramoko mine is a high grade underground gold operation consisting of two deposits, the 55 Zone and Bagassi South.
The ultimate vision for the Subika Underground Project is a +20 year high-production underground mine with a robust business case for future growth. AUMS currently works with client Newmont to provide greater than 40,000m of development over 5 years, 1.3Mt of production per annum, 164,000+ m of diamond drilling and significant vertical development.
Subika underground operation is part of the larger Ahafo complex expected to add ~150-200koz to the operation per annum over its 10+ year life.
Geita Hill is one of the production areas that forms the Geita Complex in Tanzania. Originally an open-pit it is now being developed underground and AUMS works with client AngloGold Ashanti to provide underground production mining and development services.
Barminco works with client Western Areas at the Spotted Quoll mine site in Western Australia. Spotted Quoll is a nickel mine and has a shared staff of approximately 190 people. It produces approximately 0.2Mt per year.
Spotted Quolls is the more recent development in the Forrestania complex and operates with Flying Fox as ‘one site’ to take advantage of operational synergies in plant and labour resourcing. Single stream management of the two operations has enabled Barminco to reduce costs and pass on savings to Western Areas.
Nyankanga is in the main production pit of the Geita Mine located in northwestern Tanzania, in the Lake Victoria goldfields of the Mwanza Region, about 120km from Mwanza and 4km west of the town of Geita. Originally an open-pit it is now being developed underground.

Barminco has been working at the primary contractor at Western Area’s Flying Fox operation for more than a decade. The mine produces approximately 0.2Mt per annum and has a shared workforce (with Spotted Quoll) of approximately 190 people.
The Obuasi mine is a major redevelopment project in the Ashanti region of Ghana. It has a history of mining dating back to 1897.
Independence Group’s Nova mine produces approximately 1.3Mt of Nickel, Copper and Cobalt per annum. Located in Fraser Range, Western Australia the site has over 160 employees and Barminco provides a range of underground production mining and development services.
Barminco works with newly formed company Round Oak Minerals at their copper mine start-up, Mt Colin. Once ramp up is complete, Mount Colin will be developing approximately 0.4Mt tonnes per year. Approximately 40 employees are currently based at this site.
